Utility reinstatement testing
JFTS' utility reinstatement testing service delivers a speedy and accurate solution for our customers compliance related needs.
We provide an independent quality auditing service to confirm our customers' compliance with the current specification for the reinstatement of openings in highways, from the Department of Transport.
This specification, under the New Roads and Street Works Act of 1991, details the requirements for the performance of all reinstatement works, following the opening of excavations within the highway.
Our team of specialists provide a rapid response service, utilising the most appropriate sampling and test equipment, and samples are tested in one of our UKAS accredited laboratories to ensure the highest of standards.
Our utility reinstatement testing services include:
- Sub-base classification
- Diamond bit coring to establish construction make-up and thickness
- Analysis of bituminous materials including compaction, density, air voids and constituents
- Compaction characteristics of road foundations by dynamic cone penetration or nuclear density testing
