Achilles UVDB audit success for James Fisher Testing Services
James Fisher Testing Services (JFTS) has been successfully accredited on the Achilles Utilities Vendor Database (UVDB) audit, the prime utility industry pre-qualification system used across the UK.
Achilles operates the UVDB supplier management service on behalf of all the major UK utility organisations, providing an open and transparent means of supplier choice for tender opportunities, helping to build the highest standard of supply chain assurance.
The accreditation gives buyers confidence that potential suppliers have been thoroughly pre-qualified and audited by an industry leading accreditation company and have reached high standards for their systems.
By gaining accreditation, JFTS has further opportunity to offer its value-added services for national contracts and demonstrate its excellence across the industry in health and safety, quality, corporate social responsibility, and environmental protection issues.
Ian Twining, QHSE manager at JFTS, said:
“Successfully re-gaining accreditation with Achilles UVDB is a major boost to us as it puts us directly in the shop front for 65 of the country’s major buyers within the utilities sector and tells them that we have reached a standard with our systems and procedures that meet their pre-qualification standards”.
“Anyone of those buyers have access to the Achilles database and regularly use it when sourcing suppliers/ sub-contractors. The buyers use Achilles as a means to ensure their standards are met and are safe in the knowledge that we can provide a quality service to them”.
JFTS is a leading provider of specialist testing services and structural health monitoring to the construction, rail, highways and offshore wind sectors.
